L’Aube – A review of the lessons learned and the project’s impact
Since 2021, the L’Aube Food Hub project has been experimenting with a collective, structured approach to strengthening the resilience of local organic farms and improving access to healthy, locally sourced food on the island of Montreal. Developed as part of the Local and Integrated Food System in Montreal (SALIM) program, the project brings together social innovation, food logistics and territorial cooperation.
Guided by the vision of a more supportive and equitable local food system, L’Aube has pooled essential services for its member farms, meeting the needs of farms, community organizations and institutions. This approach has enabled the testing, adjustment and consolidation of collective solutions adapted to the realities on the ground.
This learning and impact assessment report documents the implementation context, results observed, challenges encountered and lessons learned from this experience. The report is intended for individuals or organizations wishing to draw inspiration from these lessons in local procurement and collective marketing to transform food systems.
